Team 11243 is currently based out of Las Lomas High School in Walnut Creek, California. It was started by a small group of about five students as a club in the fall of 2025, and since then the team has competed in two district competitions in San Francisco and Pittsburgh. The 2026-2027 season will be our team’s second year ever. Having just completed our rookie year, we are looking forward to growing our team infrastructure to something which our community can access easily, allowing any of our peers at Las Lomas high school to compete in high level robotics tournaments, have access to high caliber robotics equipment, and gain a thorough experience in STEM topics. This team was started by two students at the high school in the fall of 2025, where we spent much of the year struggling to get enough money for registration and parts as well as finding a space to work within our school, the only place really accessible to all students. However, we ended our rookie season with two awards and high hopes for our next year together, and we are working this summer to ensure the longevity of this program, the opportunities for students to get involved, and the success of our team. Our community has lots of people attracted by what an FRC team has to offer, because no matter what they are interested in, they can do something for the team. Aside from working on the technical aspect of the robot, there is also the necessity for fundraising, social media management, logistical organization, leadership, and outreach, all key aspects of the mission at FIRST.
The Las Lomas high school is a public school in Walnut Creek, California, with around 1500 students in total. This is where all the current students on our team attend.
